INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

RMCAAT-2007 will be held on 27th May 2007, we take this opportunity to highlight some salient points, which you must read carefully before filling application form properly.
 
(a) The RMCAAT application form, which you will be filling, and mailing to us is a specially designed form. The data recorded on this form would be used subsequently for generation of admit card for the test, and the result. Therefore, it should be filled very carefully & neatly by you, and according to the detailed instruction given in the bulletin.
(b) The list of institutions covered by RMCAAT-2007 is provided in the Information Brochure as on 15-03-2007. Any addition to the list shall be communicated in time
(c) You must mail all the form documents (by Registered/Speed post/Bank Branches as mentioned) on or before 23rd April 2007 viz.
(i). RMCAAT application form
(ii.) Application form for admission
(iii.) Post card & Envelopes duly stamped filled in, to the Coordinator RMCAAT.
(d) The final merit list would be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the written test, and would be declared within a fortnight after the written test. The merit list will be displayed on the notice board of the Coordinator's office.
(e) If two or more candidates secure equal marks in the written test, then the relative merit will be decided on the basis of their percentage of marks obtained in degree examination (B.A/ BCA/B.Sc./B.Com../B.E. etc). If that is also equal then one who is born earlier will be given preference.
(f) Option Form shall be made available at the examination center and the same may be kept in your safe custody till declaration of result. You are required to mail this option form (by Registered/Speed post/Bank Branches mentioned) in the enclosed envelope to coordinator latest by 25th June 2007. The option form must be accompanied with a non-refundable Demand Draft of Rs. 5000/- drawn in favor of "Coordinator, RMCAAT-2007 " and payable at KOTA (Rajasthan).

On the basis of your option(s) of Institution(s) in the option form, an Institution will be allotted to you for admission as per your relative merit as per your opted Institution(s) Admission to any of the institutions (listed in the bulletin) of your choice would be subject to the position obtained by you in the final merit list of the candidates and the availability of seats in the institution(s) as per your preference in the option form.

If provisionally admitted in the institution you will be required to report to the institution within a week and fulfill the fee and other formalities and produce the relevant documents about your eligibility. The amount mentioned above is adjustable in the fee of the Institution /college of Admission.

You must: note that if your option form along with the DD (Rs.5000/-) has not reached us latest by 25th June 2007, your candidature will be cancelled.
 
(g) Pursuant to the judgment dated 14.08.2003 of Hon'ble. Supreme Court in the case titled Islamic Academy of Education V/s State of Karnataka, the state government has constituted a state level fee committee for determination of fee structure for various technical courses including MCA. As per the directions of the state level fee committee, the interim fee structure for MCA course for the session 2004-06 was as under:-
 
Fee for the aided institutions Rs.18000/- per annum
Fee for the private un-aided Institutions and self-financed Courses in government aided institutions. Rs. 34000/- Per Annum
Caution Money to be deposited in first Year Only Rs. 2000/- (Refundable)

Further, it may be noted that the fee structure for the session 2007-2008 will be finalized shortly by the State level fee committee. The candidates are required to pay the fee as prescribed by the committee. The fee once deposited by the candidate for admission in MCA course will not be refunded.
 

(j) ELIGIBILITY:
 
(a) Academic: The candidates must possess (10+2) at school level with mathematics and Graduation (3 years duration) in any subject from any recognized University or Graduation (10+2+3 years duration) in any subject with mathematics as one subject from any recognized University, with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates), without any approximation in the Graduate Examination. However, the candidate appearing for the qualifying examination (Graduate Degree) will also be permitted to appear in the admission test but their admission will be provisional subject to furnishing the degree of qualifying examination with the prescribed eligibility by 31st July 2007.
 
(b) Domicile: The RMCAAT-2007 is open to the candidates of Rajasthan domicile only. The domicile status of Rajasthan of any candidate will be ascertained as per the following criteria. Use the relevant form for the same.

The candidate himself/herself or any of his/her natural parents (father/mother) is a bonafide resident of Rajasthan. (Enclosed certificate No. 1(i) )

OR

Candidate has studied continuously as a regular student in recognized educational institutions in Rajasthan for the proceeding five years up to and including the year in which he/she has passed the qualifying examination. (Enclosed certificate No. 1(ii) )

OR

Candidate is a son/daughter of either a serving employee or of a retired employee of any of the following: (Enclosed certificate No. 1(iii) )

(i) Government of Rajasthan (including officers of All India Service borne on the State cadre of Rajasthan).
(ii) Undertaking/Corporation/Improvement Trust/ Municipal Boards/ Panchyat Samities/ Co-operative Bodies duly constituted by the Government of Rajasthan.
(iii) Statutory Bodies and Corporations formed under the Indian Companies Act., incorporated in Rajasthan.

OR

Candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of any of the Universities in Rajasthan or Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or Engineering Colleges, Bhilwara, Kota, Ajmer and Bikaner, who has put in at least three-year service on the date of submission of application in any of the above bodies. (Enclosed certificate No. 1(iv))

OR

Candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of Central Government or Institutions of the Central Government including Public Sector Undertaking or Corporation and who is on the regular rolls and is serving in the State of Rajasthan on the date of application. (Enclosed certificate No. 1(v) )

OR

Candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of Rajasthan origin, service in Defence/Central Government Service/ Public Sector undertaking/National Institutes of Government of India, who has put in at least three years service on the last date for submission of application irrespective of his/her place of posting provided a certificate submitted by the employee from the employer to his effect stating the State of origin and the home town as given by him/her at the time of his/her entry of service. (Enclosed certificate No. 1(vi) )

Note :- Ex-Servicemen (Ex-S) and the Defence Killed (DK) persons should be of Rajasthan origin for eligibility of their children in these categories. The State of origin and hometown as entered in the discharge certificate shall only be accepted as proof in respect of the above.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you fulfill the eligibility requirement. If, it is found at any stage that you do not fulfill the eligibility requirement, your candidature will be cancelled immediately.
 

(k) Reservation of seats: As prescribed by the Govt. of Rajasthan, except in case of unaided private Institutions and 50% seats in the self finance course of the aided institutions the reservation of seats will be made subject to the prevalent statutory provisions i.e. as per relevant rules and regulations of Govt. of Rajasthan viz. 16% for SC candidates, 12% for ST candidates and 21% for candidates belonging to OBC category. (Enclosed certificate No. 2 )

In addition to the above, there will be horizontal reservation of 3% for candidates belonging to physically handicap, 25% for women category and 3% for dependants of Defence Killed/Ex-servicemen. (Enclosed certificate No. 3/4/5)

There is an additional reservation for Kashmiri migrants by the way of 1 (one) seat in each Institute as per state government rules.
 

(l) Your admit card will be sent well in time. In case of non receipt of ADMIT CARD by 21st May (Monday) 2007 you must inform the coordinator RMCAAT immediately by telegram giving your RMCAAT Form no. & Registration number, mailing address and test centre.
 
(m) One ENVELOP and one POSTCARD is attached with this form. You are required to write your postal address on these and affix stamp of Rs. 6/- on post card and as indicated on envelopes.
 
(n) You are required to paste two recent passport size photographs on the Admit Card and one each on Application Form & Admission Application Form in the space provided. All the photographs must be similar (of the same shot).
 
(o) The medium of RMCAAT would be English.
 
(p) Rs. 1050/- (for getting forms by Post) & Rs.1000/- (for getting forms by direct purchase without post) paid by you (through D.D. only) includes RMCAAT fees. You are not required to pay any additional amount on this account. This amount is not refundable.
(q) Admission to any seat in any institution would be made strictly on the basis of final merit list.
(r) Please ensure that you have completed the RMCAAT form in all respects. Incomplete forms are liable to be rejected without any notice.
(s) All legal matters will be subject to KOTA jurisdiction only.
(t) RMCAAT coordinator would not be responsible for postal delays in communication with you
(u) You are required to enclose the photocopy (duplicate) in support of the following
i. Academic Eligibility
ii. Domicile
iii. Category
iv. Date of Birth
(v) You are required to send documents and application/option forms to the Coordinator by Registered/Speed Post only. Coordinator will not be responsible in case the candidate uses other mode of postal services.
